Yves Pigneur is a Belgian computer scientist and Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Lausanne, where he has taught since 1984. He has also held visiting professorships at several prestigious institutions, including Georgia State University, the University of British Columbia, the National University of Singapore, and HEC Montreal. Pigneur is renowned for his collaboration with Alex Osterwalder in developing the Business Model Canvas, a strategic management tool widely adopted by companies around the globe.

Together with Osterwalder, Pigneur co-authored the international bestselling books 'Business Model Generation' and 'Value Proposition Design.' Their contributions to the field of business strategy have earned them recognition as the No. 4 most influential management thinkers in the world by Thinkers50, where they also received the Thinkers50 Strategy Award. Pigneur's work has been utilized by major corporations, including Procter & Gamble, Amazon, Lockheed Martin, and Tesla, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in business model innovation.
