Dr. Michael Salla is an internationally recognized authority in the fields of international politics, conflict resolution and U.S. foreign policy. He has held positions in prestigious academic institutions like the School of International Service & the Center for Global Peace at the American University, Washington D.C. (1996-2004); the Department of Political Science at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia (1994-96); and the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, Washington D.C. (2002).

Dr. Salla is a Ph.D. holder in Government from the University of Queensland, Australia. Throughout his academic career, he has authored or edited four books on international politics. He has undertaken extensive research and fieldwork in ethnic conflict scenarios spanning East Timor, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Sri Lanka. In recognition of his work, he has received substantial grants from distinguished institutions like the United States Institute of Peace and the Ford Foundation for his peacemaking initiatives involving significant participants from the East Timor conflict.

Exopolitics, a term representing the key actors, institutions, and political processes tied to extraterrestrial life, counts Dr. Salla as one of its pioneers. His contribution here includes the first published book on exopolitics back in 2004 titled Exopolitics: Political Implications of the Extraterrestrial Presence. He followed this with three more investigative books focusing on the U.S. Government's Policies on Extraterrestrial Life (2009), Galactic Diplomacy (2013) and the relationship between classified UFO's and the Kennedy Assassination (Kennedy’s Last Stand, 2013).

Apart from this, Dr. Salla has penned a six-book Secret Space Program series based on whistleblower and insider testimonies about classified space programs. His series, which gained significant popularity and became #1 Amazon bestsellers, are as follows:
