Jim Wendler is the creator and author of the 5/3/1 Training Program, which has been widely adopted by athletes and lifters across various levels. He played football at the University of Arizona, where he was a three-time letter winner. Wendler achieved significant success in powerlifting, including a competition squat of 1000 pounds and an impressive total of 2,375 pounds as an Elite Lifter.
In addition to his accomplishments as a lifter, Wendler has extensive experience in coaching, having trained high school and collegiate athletes as well as general populations. He is recognized for his ability to distill complex strength training concepts into accessible templates, enabling individuals to effectively reach their fitness goals. Wendler has also spoken globally on topics related to strength training, conditioning, fat-loss, performance, and program design.
