Carl Barrett was born in 1981 in Riverside, California, where he developed a passion for cooking inspired by his father, Mark Barrett, a professional chef. Although he initially pursued a degree in financial economics at the University of Chicago, which he completed with honors, his love for food remained a significant part of his life. After working at U.S. Bancorp bank, he realized that his true calling was in the culinary world rather than in finance.
Determined to follow his passion, Carl decided to forgo the security of his banking job to venture into the food industry. He conceptualized a traveling kitchen that would allow him to serve food across the country with minimal initial investment. This innovative approach not only fulfilled his dream of sharing his culinary creations but also inspired him to document his experiences. He aims to help others navigate their paths to success in the food business through his writings, including books such as 'Food Truck Business Plan for Beginners' and 'The Absolute Dummies Guide to Starting Your Own Business.'
