Rheeda Walker, PhD, is a tenured professor of psychology at the University of Houston, where she specializes in behavioral science research. With a focus on African American adult mental health, suicide risk, and resilience, she has published over fifty scientific papers in her field. Her scholarly achievements have earned her recognition as a fellow in the American Psychological Association.

In addition to her academic work, Walker has served as a guest expert psychologist on T.D. Jakes’s national television talk show and has had her work featured in prominent media outlets such as The Washington Post, CNN Health, the Houston Chronicle, and Ebony magazine. She has been actively mentoring doctoral students in cross-cultural psychology since 2003 and has previously worked as a lead consultant for the statewide African American Faith-Based Education and Awareness initiative in Texas. Walker also conducts workshops and collaborates with churches and organizations to promote emotional wellness.
