Peter D. Kramer is an American psychiatrist and an emeritus professor at Brown University, where he has specialized in clinical depression. He has authored eight books, including the international bestseller 'Listening to Prozac,' which explores the effects of antidepressant drugs on self-identity. Other notable works include 'Ordinarily Well,' 'Against Depression,' and the novels 'Spectacular Happiness' and 'Death of the Great Man.' His writing often addresses the complexities of mental health and the impact of medication on personal well-being.
In addition to his literary contributions, Kramer has made numerous appearances on major broadcast news and talk shows, such as 'Today,' 'Good Morning America,' 'Oprah,' and 'Charlie Rose.' His essays, op-eds, and book reviews have been featured in prominent publications, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post.
