About

David Heinemeier Hansson is the cofounder of Basecamp and a New York Times bestselling coauthor of the books REWORK and REMOTE. He is also known for creating Ruby on Rails, a software toolkit that has been instrumental in launching and powering numerous web applications, including those for Twitter, Shopify, GitHub, Airbnb, and Square. Originally from Denmark, he relocated to Chicago in 2005 and currently splits his time between the United States and Spain with his wife and two sons.

In addition to his work in software development, Hansson is an avid racing driver, participating in international competitions with 200-mph race cars. He enjoys capturing moments through photography, particularly of sunsets and his children, and is known for his outspoken presence on Twitter.
