Camila Russo is a writer and financial journalist known for her extensive experience across global markets. She is the founder of The Defiant, a content platform dedicated to decentralized finance. Prior to this, Russo spent eight years as a markets reporter at Bloomberg News, where she was based in Buenos Aires, Madrid, and New York. Her journalism career began at El Mercurio, Chile's most widely read newspaper, before she pursued a Master's degree at Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism in the United States.
During her time at Bloomberg, Russo covered significant events in Argentine markets, including a debt default and the nationalization of a foreign oil company. She later transitioned to covering European stocks and macro markets in New York. Her interest in cryptocurrency began in 2013, and she has since become a prominent voice in the space. In 2018, she began writing 'The Infinite Machine,' a book on the history of Ethereum, which she completed after leaving Bloomberg in 2019 to focus on her own projects.
