Bret A. Moore is a prescribing psychologist and board-certified clinical psychologist based in San Antonio, Texas. Furthermore, he is a participant on the Boulder Crest Retreat Wellness Committee located in Bluemont, Virginia.
In his earlier years, Moore was an active duty Army psychologist and a veteran of two tours in Iraq. His experience in the Army has greatly contributed to his expertise within the field of psychology.
Moore has written and edited an impressive collection of 14 books. Some notable works include "The Posttraumatic Growth Workbook," "Treating PTSD in Military Personnel: A Clinical Handbook," "Wheels Down: Adjusting to Life after Deployment," and "Taking Control of Anxiety: Small Steps for Overcoming Worry, Stress, and Fear."). Moreover, he holds the position of Editor for the Routledge series "Clinical Topics in Psychology and Psychiatry."
In addition to his books, he pens a bi-weekly column "Kevlar for the Mind" which is circulated in Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps Times. Moore's writing is not just limited to this column; he has also been featured in Scientific American Mind and The New Republic.
He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and achieved the Arthur W. Melton Award for Early Career Achievement in Military Psychology from Division 19. He was also acknowledged with the Early Career Achievement Award in Public Service Psychology from Division 18 of APA.
