Samuel Benjamin Harris is an American neuroscientist, philosopher, author, and podcast host. He is recognized for his work on a variety of topics, including rationality, religion, ethics, free will, and neuroscience. Harris gained prominence for his criticism of religion and is known as one of the 'Four Horsemen' of New Atheism, alongside Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Daniel Dennett. His books, such as The End of Faith and The Moral Landscape, have achieved best-seller status and have been translated into more than 20 languages.
Harris holds a degree in philosophy from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA. He has practiced meditation for over 30 years and has studied with various meditation teachers worldwide. He also hosts the Making Sense Podcast, which has received accolades, including a Webby Award for best podcast in the Science & Education category.
