Matthew West is a distinguished musician with five GRAMMY® nominations to his credit. As a recognized talent in Christian Music, he has won many times the ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year. In 2018, he was the recipient of the Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year (Artist).

Among his notable accolades, he has received an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, and a K-LOVE Fan Award. West was named Billboard’s Hot Christian Songwriter of the Year. He is a recipient of the Rich Mullins Impact Award and even got a Primetime Emmy® Award nomination for Original Music & Lyrics for the title track of the feature film “The Heart of Christmas.”
Adding to his successes, West has been awarded a RIAA Gold certification for his single “Hello, My Name Is” and RIAA Platinum certification for his song “The Motions.”
Extensive Career in Songwriting and Co-hosting
In addition to his successful recording career, West has co-hosted the K-LOVE Fan Awards six times, with another addition this year. He boasts over 130 songwriting credits, including songs for Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Mandisa, and Danny Gokey. He has also crafted back-to-back No. 1 songs for Casting Crowns, including their recent single, “Nobody,” in which West is featured.

West is also an accomplished author, with five books under his belt, namely: Give This Christmas Away, The Story Of Your Life, Forgiveness, Today Is Day One, and Hello, My Name Is. His passion lies in providing hope and healing through the power of prayer and story.
Non-profit Initiative
Together with his father, Pastor Joe West, Matthew West founded popwe, a non-profit ministry that aids others in crafting, sharing, and living a more meaningful life.
