Matthew Dicks is an American writer and storyteller known for his internationally bestselling novels, including Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend, The Other Mother, and Twenty-one Truths About Love. His works have been translated into over 25 languages, and his novel Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend won the 2014 Dolly Gray Award. Dicks has also authored nonfiction books such as Storyworthy: Engage, Teach, Persuade, and Change Your Life Through the Art of Storytelling, and Someday Is Today: 22 Simple, Actionable Ways to Propel Your Creative Life.
In addition to his writing, Dicks is an accomplished storyteller and educator. He is a record 58-time Moth StorySLAM champion and a 9-time GrandSLAM champion, with his stories featured on the Moth Radio Hour and their podcast. Dicks co-founded Speak Up, a storytelling organization in Hartford, and has taught storytelling at prestigious institutions like MIT, Yale, and Harvard. He also works as a coach and consultant for various organizations worldwide, helping individuals improve their storytelling and communication skills.
