Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and the executive director of the Mindsight Institute. He graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his postgraduate medical education at UCLA, specializing in pediatrics and child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. Dr. Siegel is also the founding co-director of UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center and a founding co-investigator at the UCLA Center for Culture, Brain and Development.
With over thirty years of experience in psychotherapy, Dr. Siegel has published extensively and serves as the Founding Editor for the Norton Professional Series on Interpersonal Neurobiology, which includes more than 70 textbooks. He is the author of several bestsellers, including 'Aware: The Science and Practice of Presence' and 'Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.' His work emphasizes the importance of insight, compassion, and empathy in personal and professional development.
