Over the years, she expanded her career to include various television films and series, including her role as Melanie Moretti in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland.

In addition to her acting career, Bertinelli is a prominent television host and author. She hosts her own daytime series, Valerie’s Home Cooking, and co-hosts the Kids Baking Championship on the Food Network. Her cookbook, Valerie's Home Cooking, features a variety of recipes that showcase her creative approach to traditional dishes.
