Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D., holds the position of a Psychology Professor at the University of California, Riverside. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Harvard University and received her Ph.D. in social psychology from Stanford University.
Research and Recognition
Lyubomirsky's research focuses on exploring the potential for permanently increasing happiness. This significant work has been recognized with several awards, including a Science of Generosity grant, a John Templeton Foundation grant, and a Templeton Positive Psychology Prize. She has also received a substantial grant of one million dollars from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

Lyubomirsky is the author of the 2008 book titled, "The How of Happiness" (Penguin Press), which has been translated into 19 different languages. Her next book, "The Myths of Happiness," was published on January 3, 2013.
