Chris Dixon is a general partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, a position he has held since 2013. He has made significant investments in various successful companies, including Oculus, which was later acquired by Facebook, and Coinbase. Dixon has also invested in early-stage companies such as Kickstarter, Pinterest, Stack Overflow, and Stripe, all of which have become widely recognized in their respective fields. He founded and leads a16z crypto, a division of Andreessen Horowitz focused on investments in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
Dixon's influence in the venture capital space was acknowledged when he was ranked #1 on the Forbes Midas List of the world’s best venture capital investors in 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's degree in Philosophy from Columbia University, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School. In addition to his investment career, he has founded two startups that were acquired by McAfee and eBay. Originally from Ohio, Dixon currently resides in California.
